Happy Birthday, Byron!

While waiting to go to dinner at Buca di Beppo, we held a little jam session at Kittoe place. What started out as a great musical training session quickly devolved into a "blast from the past" "oldies but goodies" worship time, with songs like "Deep, deep", "King Jesus is All", "I Love Papayas", "Jesus Is a Friend", and "Jesus Is my Rock and He Rolled my Blues Away" complete with Maria, Joy, and a reluctant Mike following along with animated hand motions.

As far as weekend recap goes, certainly the highlight was the Dagens' visit. They have been serving in the Czech republic for 8 years now, and Canaan has been supporting them since the beginning. The 2 girls, Amy and Jess, are now in their early teens, and have both gone through a lot, even for MK's. I have great respect for their parents, Brian and Jill. It's hard enough being long-term missionaries in a foreign country, but as parents, it must be even harder seeing your children suffer, having to move every 2-3 years and having to readjust to a new school and struggle to make new friends all over again. I know it must break their hearts, but to them, serving God in this way is worth this price. For some reason, this fact in particular really left an impression with me.
