Aye, this is generally how people react when I tell them that it takes me driving somewhere 10+ times (or more) before I can do it without printed directions, even when the place is only 15 minutes away. Anybody who knows me can vouch that I have the worst sense of direction. In fact, when we're lost, my friends have told me they can reliably ask me which way to turn at an intersection, and know that the opposite direction I point to is usually the right one. (And no, I've tried second-guessing myself, but I still always pick the wrong way, which means that if I hadn't tried to second-guess myself, I'd have chosen the right way. So then I figure I'll be smart and start second-guessing my second-guessing, and... I still pick the wrong way. It's almost mystical how I always choose the wrong way. I seriously have better odds flipping a coin to choose right or left, than to try to guess based on my sense of direction.) Well, I'm happy to say that the laughter can finally stop!
See, for Christmas, my awesome girlfriend gave me a GPS car navigation device. The sad thing is that even with the GPS, I still got lost. A couple of days ago, I got lost going home from Byron and Maria's place... a place that I've probably been to at least 20 times... so I figured I could do it without the GPS so I didn't turn it on... and I somehow managed to turn in all the wrong directions on local, and then not only ended up on the wrong freeway, but the wrong freeway in the wrong direction... mmm, ok, nvm, you can start laughing at me again.
LOL. It's a good thing that it's Byria's place and not the Kittoe House from which you got lost. Otherwise, I'd be rolling on the floor dying. Yeah, how come your sense of direction in gaming is quite good regardless?
Kingdom Hearts II (PS2)**** The Disney art is fantastic, and I love the anime look of everyone. The story is interesting and complex, but does require knowledge of Chain of Memories (GBA). Unchallenging, yet fast and fun gameplay.
Shadow Hearts: Covenant (PS2)**** Better than the 1st one. The Judgment ring is more customizable and fun to tinker with. An enjoyable RPG that doesn't take itself too seriously, with a bizarre cast of characters and oft irreverent humor.
Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams (PS2)***1/2 Fun rental, good graphics. The combat mechanics get stale after a few hours, not as varied or as fun as in God of War. Option for original Japanese voices a definite plus!
Shadow Hearts (PS2)***1/2 Released back in 2001, it's a pretty decent RPG. Timed button presses during combat add a new level of strategic depth. I loved the Chinese mythology setting in the 1st half, more than the Western occult in the 2nd. Campy dialogue.
Resident Evil 4 (PS2)***** 2005 Game of the Year. Genre-defining, hands down the best horror-themed game ever. Definitely in my top 3 games of all time.
Dragon Quest VIII (PS2)***1/2
Unremarkable turn-based RPG. Beautifully drawn by Akira Toriyama. Well-voiced PCs with memorable personalities. But silent protagonist and repetitive music seriously detract from the overall experience.
Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (GC)*1/2
Fewer bosses (only 4), frustrating 3D environmental puzzles, and a wholly uninteresting plot (nothing to do with Zelda or Ganon!). Tedious.
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (GC)***
I am not a big fan of 3D environmental puzzles, one reason I feel the Zelda series has gone downhill since A Link to the Past. Still, it revolutionized 3D gaming, so 3 stars.
Shadow of the Colossus (PS2)***
Great sense of atmosphere. Fighting screen-filling colossi is awe-some. Unfortunately, gameplay starts to feel stale 75% of the way through.
Indigo Prophecy (PS2)***
Great story-telling via cinematographic gameplay. The first 2/3 of the game gets 5 stars, but the last 1/3 feels rushed and ultimately ruins the final game.
God of War (PS2)****1/2
Fun variety-filled combat, beautifully animated monsters and backdrops ripped from the pages of Greek mythology, terrific anti-hero story arc. Rousing orchestral music. One of the best action adventure games ever for the PS2.

Soooo funny...you really are Ryoga.
Write more about the GPS system!
lol. I think the picture says it all. hahahah... welcome to the world of GPS--not perfect, but less lost, we hope.
.......
What's funny is that you never get lost meeting up with Cloud in Final Fantasy Land :D
LOL. It's a good thing that it's Byria's place and not the Kittoe House from which you got lost. Otherwise, I'd be rolling on the floor dying. Yeah, how come your sense of direction in gaming is quite good regardless?
that you, mark? How'd you end up in this backwater end of cyberspace? :D
As far as the GPS goes, it's a Garmin StreetPilot c320. One of these days, I'll have to have a head-to-head vs. ANg's TomTom.
